SIPs - Structural Insulated Panels

SIPs are a high-tech framing & energy-efficient insulation system with a super-insulating core of rigid expanded polystyrene (EPS). Structurally laminated and pressure cured between two sheets of oriented strand board (OSB).

We offer SIP (Structural Insulated Panel) construction for an energy-efficient, high-tech home that is quiet, stronger than conventional wood frame, typically faster to construct and comfortable to live in.

  • It is considered a "Green Building System" that can save the homeowner 40-50% more on energy costs than a conventional wood frame construction.
  • SIP technology provides a tighter building envelope and less air infiltration with a higher "whole wall" R-value for the same exterior wall thickness.
  • With the SIP technology we are generally able to down size the heating and cooling equipment requirements by as much as 1 to 1½ tons.

We have put together an informative presentation on SIPs construction and would like you to view it at your convenience. If for whatever reason you have problems viewing the presentation, by downloading it here, please contact us and we will send you a CD of the presentation. ***The file is 24 MB, so if you don't have a high speed connection, it will take a long time to download it***

You can click here to download our PowerPoint presentation on SIPs. Once you click on the link to download it, save it and then you can view it at your own convenience. The presentation takes approximately 12 minutes to view.

If you do not have PowerPoint, you can download a free viewer here.

The SIPs PowerPoint presentation basically consists of the following information:

  • What are SIPs
  • SIPs compared to Stick Construction
  • Quality & Strength
  • Insulation - R-value
  • Insect Resistance
  • Fire Resistance
  • Comfort
  • Ease of Construction
  • Peace of Mind
  • Cost Comparison
  • Long Term Energy Cost Savings
  • SIPs home being constructed
